This is not financial advice

Retirement Planner is an educational modelling tool. It is not financial, tax, investment or legal advice, and its operator is not a licensed financial adviser, broker, accountant or attorney. Nothing it produces is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, to convert a retirement account, or to claim a government benefit at any particular time.

Decisions about retirement timing, Roth conversions, Social Security claiming and withdrawal strategy have significant and often irreversible tax consequences. Consult a qualified professional who can review your complete situation before acting on anything you see here.

What the projections are

The planner runs Monte Carlo simulations over assumptions you supply. Its output is a range of hypothetical outcomes, not a forecast and not a guarantee. A result such as “96% success” describes how often a simplified model survived under a particular set of assumptions — it is not a probability that your retirement will work out.

The model simplifies reality in ways that matter. Tax brackets, contribution limits, Social Security rules, Medicare costs and healthcare subsidies all change over time, and the figures built into this tool reflect a particular moment. Among other things it does not model IRMAA surcharge amounts, net investment income tax, survivor filing status, state-tax changes from relocating, or rental depreciation recapture. Actual results will differ, potentially by a wide margin.

Your responsibility

Output quality depends entirely on the accuracy of what you enter. Verify your own figures — in particular, confirm Social Security estimates directly at ssa.gov rather than relying on an estimate. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

Accounts and acceptable use

Sign-in requires a Google account; you are responsible for activity under yours. Do not attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the service, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend accounts that do.

Availability and warranty

The service is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. It may change, break or be discontinued at any time without notice. Keep your own copy of anything you rely on.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost savings, investment losses or tax liabilities arising from your use of this tool or reliance on its output.

Privacy, changes and contact

Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy. If these terms change materially, the date above will change; continuing to use the service means you accept the revision. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Questions go to kryptosubs@gmail.com.
